Crown Perth has been prohibited from engaging in premium player activities.

The Casino Control Act of 1984 (Western Australia)'s regulations have been announced by Crown in a filing on Wednesday morning, confirming the prohibition.

In addition to junkets, Crown Perth will no longer engage in "table games activity with patrons who are non-residents of Australia with whom Crown Perth has an arrangement to pay the patron a commission, or provide the patron with transport, accommodation, food, drink, or entertainment, based on the patron's turnover or otherwise calculated by reference to such play."

The GWC's instructions come after the Victorian Government decided to convene a royal commission into Crown Resorts earlier this week to assess the company's eligibility to hold the casino licence for Melbourne.

Former Federal Court judge Raymond Finkelstein, QC, will be in charge of the investigation, which will go on concurrently with the Government's previously established assessment of the operator's fitness.

"Crown welcomes the announcement from the Victorian Government as it provides an opportunity to detail the reforms and changes to our business to deliver the highest standards of governance and compliance, and an organisational culture that meets community expectations," said Helen Coonan, executive chairman of Crown, adding that the operator would fully cooperate with the inquiry.
